Boyd A. Robinson, DPM
Dr. Boyd A. Robinson is a native of Ohio. He was born in 1967 in Worthington, OH. His family moved to the Cincinnati area, which was followed by several years in the Chicago suburb Cary, Illinois. They settled in Vermilion, Ohio on the coast of Lake Erie where he developed a love for boating, relating to his desire to practice in a similar waterfront small town community. He enjoys talking with a lot of fellow Midwest patients who have also chosen this area to reside.
He graduated from Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio in 1989. He was the president of the Freshman Natl. Academic Honor Society, sophomore Blue Key National Honorary member inductee, and a National Mathematics Honorary member his junior year. He played NCAA Ohio Athletics Conference level golf and soccer, and a brother of the sigmu nu fraternity. He received scholarships in his chemistry degree major, yet was attracted to his current career while shadowing a podiatrist who was involved with the colleges Pre-Med program. It was the multi-faceted potential within the single specialty of podiatry that he found interesting. He liked the versatility of being a dermatologist, orthopedic surgeon, orthotist with its relating mechanics, and a wound care specialist all at the same time but just focused on one anatomical region, the foot and lower leg.
Dr. Robinson was awarded scholarships to attend the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and graduated in the top 20% of his class in 1993. He was selected to be the Anatomy Lab teaching assistant during his 2nd and 3rd years, which lead to an interest in the surgical specialty field.
He then completed 3 years of surgical residency in Cleveland, Ohio and Baltimore, Maryland with focused training in complex foot surgery and hospital based diabetic limb salvage at The Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
Dr. Robinson moved to Venice, FL in 1996 after training and has been in private practice since, becoming Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons in 2001. He is also a member of the Florida Podiatric Medical Assoc., American Podiatric Medical Assoc., and a fellow of The American College of Foot Surgeons.
He enjoys treating all aspects of the foot, ankle and diabetic wounds from a simple to complex nature. When not working on feet, he loves boating with his family, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing, hiking, golf, camping, and playing acoustic guitar.
